The Character

Character's Name: Lily Evans

Character's Gender: female

Character's Appearance: Lily has almond-shaped eyes that are a brilliant green and pale, slightly freckled skin. Her hair is dark-red, long and thick Her facial features are small, with a pointy nose and chin that remind people vaguely of a kitten. She's only about 5'3" tall with curvy hips and delicate feet. When not in her uniform Lily likes to wear spiky heels and swishy long skirts, and the occasional corset.

Character's History: Always a curious child, Lily excelled in anything academic while dreaming up fantastic stories that mystified her parents--so they were only mildly surprised and mostly proud to recieve her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Lily's parents are extremely supportive of her "alternative" education, but her younger sister Petunia is jealous of Lily's talent and powers. It pains Lily that her sister has grown to resent her so, especially since the girls were once so close when they were younger. However, this doesn't stop her from screeching mumbo-jumbo at Petunia to scare her off when she's being an obnoxious little brat.

Once at school it became apparent that Lily was quite talented with Charms and had a keen mind for potions. One of her favorite pastimes is to sit in the library with a fascinating book, studying the very things that sparked her imagination when she was younger. She's gained a small reputation as a nerd but doesn't care much--she can't help wanting to devour more information about magic.

Lily's on pretty good terms with most people at Hogwarts, although she keeps her distance from the pureblood elites. She has never been able to stand the Marauders in general, but mainly James pisses her off the most. When she first met him he ruffled his hair and winked at her--all she wanted to do was poke him in the eyes.

The one person at Hogwarts that Lily has a previous relationship with is Severus Snape. The two grew up not far from each other, and he recognized her for a witch almost immediately. She adores Severus as her oldest friend, and often goes back and forth wondering if there could be something more between them. However, as their years at school have progressed the two have grown further apart, and their friendship is often interrupted by months-long fights over nothing and everything. She regrets their differences, but regret alone can't stop her from moving on with her life.

Character's Personality: Lily tries to get along with everyone, although sometimes she feels annoyed with the world in general. Many think of her as "such a nice girl," although really she's not so sweet and has little patience for people who seem to lack common sense (aka James and Sirius). Lily often feels uncomfortable as a member of Gryffindor house. She's never thought of herself as very brave and tends to find more in common with the intelligent Ravenclaws. Plus she hates the color red--it clashes with her hair. She smokes, but she likes to think she does it classily, with a cigarette holder.

Although she has been a bit spoiled by her family, she's the first one to admit it. Lily takes all her shortcomings very seriously and can get extremely upset if she says or does something wrong. She's very much in-tune with other people's feelings and will take extra precautions to not step on anyone's toes if she can help it. Lily has a tendency to think slightly morbid thoughts, so some of her jokes fall flat with the wrong audience. She's mildly obsessed with muggle Victorian Romance novels, her favorites so far being Wuthering Heights and Lady Audley's Secret. Lily's other hobbies include sketching sleeping classmates and collecting rings. She tends to wear at least half of her ring collection at any given time, and they're always silver. She's also an artist, a painter who's addicted to colors, because she thinks in colors and has given everyone a color in her mind.
